No, you havent. As in terms of the lyrical content this album is gospelish as I thought that it wouldve been. An album with zero fat, dense in at least three senses, two of them positive. The big problem is Kanyes lyrics, which have lost a lot of the charm they had in the early years without improving in technique, and at various points the tracks have a big hole where a genuinely powerful verse should be. Even when it seems like he hasn't put his all into the project, it sounds infectious, inspiring, and more artistic than most music today. My favorite tracks are Use This Gospel and Selah.

Boring for anyone other than people who listen to gospel music, more disappointing than the album, to chato e repetitivo quanto as msicas do lbum. On the whole, however, the album is a lyrical mess, alternately alienating and bland. In fact he achieves this w/ this entire album. Its hard to tell if thats an improvement, but it doesnt seem like a regression either. Selah, Follow God, and Use This Gospel are the clear highlights of this album. After being out for a few months, I love this album. Try to understand where he comes from and why Jesus is so meaningful to him as throughout the album hes expressing love, compassion, admiration, hope, forgivenesses, to say the less. Something new, something as fresh as this takes time simmer. Other times, Yes writing delves into eyerolling contradictions and ego-driven intentions. As I look back on this album, I see myself more in favor of his creative direction with the project. Hands On is similarly spooky like Closed On Sunday and has a nice outro. Kanye just seems like hes in his own world; disregarding whats going on around him.

The weakest content from Kanye West.

Raps are basement tier. Embora as letras no estejam no mesmo nvel, abordam temas. The journey from Yeezus to JIK closely resembles Dante's epic, The Divine Comedy.

Even closed on Sunday, If you love Jesus, you will love this album, but if you don't love Jesus, you won't love this album as much as those who love Him. What Kanye accomplished for hiphop / pop music on 808s he does for gospel music w/ this song right here. Every Kanye album is a 10/10 in my opinion. My thoughts: Kanye has always been a trendsetter and will always be. This album is great, it grows on you rapidly for each listen. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. Unique, multi-faceted and beautiful lyrics. And it doesnt work. Awful album. She's making an album for HIM. 25 Critic Reviews, Mixed or average reviews- based on 1407 Ratings. Bravo Kanye! I loved almost every second of it, and I could feel the emotion that went into this. Kanye has done it again, and has made an amazing album at a level that most artists nowadays are nowhere near. ye re invents him self every album and always makes it sound great and fresh i dont want the old ye i want whoever ye wants to be and if this is it then im not complaining. They aren't standouts but I loved them sure enough. Excellent Album, the most spiritual that Kanye has ever released, I saw God in the lyrics and I believe that the angels in the sky sing like this. Everysong on here is nice. In my opinion, I think this is just as good as Kanye's last two albums from last year but this time it greatly improves upon those two past ones. However the lyrics feel uninspired, and I personally can't relate to the religious texts Ye is throwing at us.

It reminded me that religion and pop and fascism each revels in uniforms and shared, shouted praise. I very much enjoyed Everything We Need, God Is, and On God as well. His albums are truly works of art because have you ever heard someone say the new Kanye album was just alright? Most of these comments are shallow and inaccurate from those who didn't approach this work with an open mind to begin with or clearly had a political axe to grind. Good production and a good listen. I might even go to church more often. He is the greatest artist of all time. Id 100% rather listen to rap music talking about something positive than listening to lyrics encouraging taking drugs, killing people and sexualising women. this album is a 6 this album is a 6 this album is a 6 this album is a 6 this album is a 6, "JESUS IS KING" once again splits fans of Kanye roughly down the middle. Entre los mejores temas destaco Follow God, Close On Sunday, On God y Use This Gospel. Kanye just seems like hes in his own world; disregarding whats going on around him. While I do want him to return making albums like Yeezus and Pablo, this album is revolutionary on its own depicting very profound and important subjects people dont talk enough about. Hands On is similarly spooky like Closed On Sunday and has a nice outro.

I give JIK a 7/10 as my objective score. It's visually stunning, that utilizes all of the#IMAXmovieformat & feels like a IMAX movie than a theatrical movie, and gives the viewer a sensation that they're looking at a Portal to#Heaven. Fav tracks: "Follow God", "Hands On (ft. Free Hammond)" & "Use This Gospel (ft. Clipse & Kenny G)". I admittedly have a bias in favor of all of Kanye's work so I tend to still like the songs that typically, I would think as "okay." "JESUS IS KING" once again splits fans of Kanye roughly down the middle. I feel very much like Donda did a much better job at making us able to relate to his christian self, and some of the songs on that LP damn near made me speak to Jesus personally.

An album with zero fat, dense in at least three senses, two of them positive. Theres little to defend from a musical or lyrical perspective here: This is easily Kanyes worst album to date, an impressive feat following last years ye. Great overall album with elements of gospel. - Kinda corny lines like youre my chick-fil-a? People either absolutely love it or absolutely hate it. As in terms of production this album couldve been a little bit better, but tracks such as "Follow God", "Everything We Need" & "On God" have really cool production. It is musically well composed and it clearly exposes how HE feels about God. The album makes one want to unite their respective families and put plans together to become truly greater. And it makes me cry. God Is is a classic track already. Not the album I was expecting. Embora as letras no estejam no mesmo nvel, abordam temas necessrios que a sociedade costuma ignorar. My, Classic Kanye with infinitely more depth. As with every Kanye album, theres some magnificent production on a majority of Jesus Is King courtesy of Pierre Bourne, Timbaland and Boogz, among others. It very much reminds me of 808s in a lot of ways, and I think in 5 to 10 years people will look back and give this album the praise it deserves. Obviously Kanye brings all the haters out making these reviews all but pointless, o album foda graas ao senhor Jesus! Now they illuminate the contours of his increasingly shrunken world.

"JESUS IS KING" once again splits fans of Kanye roughly down the middle. A good album, but not great like the rest of Kanye's discography. Kanye once again changes up his style and tries something different. Closed On Sunday has a creepy beginning and some interesting lines about a fast food chain which I thought to be an interesting take. As Kanye seems to reinvent himself once again, seemingly becoming a "born-again" christian, he finds himself at a new point in his life, producing and rapping on this christian/gospel and rap inspired record. This is an album similar to 808s that will give birth to new artists. The album aims to renew Kanye West's career with a new musicality and lyricism, believing that even the infidels will be jaw-dropping with the music production of the work. Jesus Is King representa o renascimento de um dos maiores artistas do sculo 21 depois de retomar contato com Deus e merece ateno e elogios por sua criatividade e esttica sonora. But that's the slight upside to an otherwise tepid attempt at finding commonality with his devout followersexcept that we never wanted West to come across as ordinary as the rest of us. A more engaged and vivid album than Ye, from last year, though nowhere as robust as The Life of Pablo from 2016, it is bare-bones and curiously effective, emotionally forceful and structurally scant. He truly is the greatest artist of all time. It's no secret that, "everybody wanted Yandhi" but truthfully, I respect what Kanye repurposed it into. Nothing about the film is especially coherent, including its simultaneous status as a piece of art, a gesture of religious conviction, and a shameless act of commerce. Lackluster album with a singular theme of Christianity. Not the album I was expecting, but i like the use of gospel and the new kanye. This album is an incredible departure from Ye's previous work, it is like 808s in the sense that the recognition will be more widespread once people have had time to understand it. Jesus Is King is an over-hated and an over judged album. A really great album both instrumentally and in all other aspects that is let down by its lyricism, as the the lyrics appear insincere, down right awful and confusing like on the track 'Closed on Sunday' and sometimes just lacking of Kanye's usual charm displayed through his lyricism. Or when he says in Yeezus Eating Asian **** all I need is sweet and sour sauce.. The production and messaging was truly beautiful. But Closed On Sunday, Water, Hands On, and Jesus Is Lord are allalright. Jesus Is King is impersonal, repetitive, boring, and somehow too long at just 27 minutes. The triumphs and failures on his journey to god addressed in true Kanye fashion w/ the odd line that leaves you thinking wtf did I just hear. Otherwise, this sounds like a walk-through to Wests next destination, a tentative step that feels neither accomplished nor particularly memorable. That is all it takes these days to inspire hatred from mass swathes of the population. Simply amazing, the wait was really worth it, just no words to how amazing this album is.

As I look back on this album, I see myself more in favor of his creative direction with the project. But like every Kanye album before it, it grows on you with each listen.

The production is classic Kanye, simply amazing. okokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokok. Critic Reviews. I know its not vintage-Kanye good but its still a very interesting and sonically pleasing album. The rest of the songs are good not great. It's such a boring album! An amazing album. I agree a lot with the criticism about the intro and outro being odd pacing and timing, the overall structure of it being a awkwardly short project, but Kanye has always had corny lyrics and those on Closed on Sunday arent THAT bad. After being out for a few months, I love this album. I love our world, No um dos seus melhores lbuns, mas est longe de ser o pior. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. Religious lyrics? Mixed or average reviews Mixed or average reviews Kanye does it again. My whole family listens to this album and loves it! 2 improvements for me would be to fix use this gospel as the leaked versions were much better, and make Jesus is Lord much much longer as the sound is heavenly! Kanye has been reborn. But enough about the message of JIK; how does it sound? Worst Kanye album and project, absolutely botched. If I had to name my favorite songs, they would be "God Is," "On God," "Water," "Follow God," "Everything We Need" and "Closed on Sunday. This 5.5 rating will change. Jesus is King is enjoyable, good production as always and while I find it hard to resonate with the subject matter, the conviction adds a tone of quality and its a new step in an interesting direction. I don't like selah. [Dec 2019, p.60]. No, you havent. 2022 METACRITIC, A RED VENTURES COMPANY. People still hate on him as a person and claim that his quality of music is declining, but hes actually experimenting with new themes and sounds, so all of his albums are unique. Some are perfectly fine little ditties, but without more full-bodied tracks to act as support, Jesus Is King is a suite that constantly feels like it will blow away in the breeze.

cheio de esprito e inspirao, kanye colocou sua alma nesse lbum, com tanto trabalho chegou a obra de arte espiritual perfeita. This is the most focused we have seen Ye since the days of 808s and Heartbreak, as I believe that this is the first time since then that he has found a sound and truly sticks to it. This album is an incredible departure from Ye's previous work, it is like 808s in the sense that the recognition will be more widespread once. The production is classic Kanye, simply amazing. Album of the Year. For an artist who is committed (for better or worse) to always putting out the purest and most unfiltered portrait of who he is and what he believes, the main problem with documenting this particular moment in this way is that it goes by far too quickly, when its the first hes created in a long time that has the potential to truly change hearts and minds and best of all, not even solely about Kanye West himself. But when looking at this LP more objectively and critically, I see that how Kanye could have swapped some of the tracks on this thing or just add more to it. Way to overhated. Please enter your birth date to watch this video: You are not allowed to view this material at this time. This is by far the most uplifting album of 2019 I've heard, filling the cultural gap that exists in today's society and music industry where every record almost sounds the same as the other one in advancement of evil. Felt very Kanye. Now they are considered classics. Overall the album is a good listen, I cant help to say this album is pretty mediocre by ye standards, although i don't really hate this album i just believe it was wasted potential and the getting the vibe of spiritual belief than ye's faith in god but neither the less the music can stem from somewhat good, mediocre by again ye's standards but ill rather see Kanye happy than ever than being forced in a mindset is just this, I cant help to say this album is pretty mediocre by ye standards, although i don't really hate this album i just believe it was wasted potential and the getting the vibe of spiritual belief than ye's faith in god but neither the less the music can stem from somewhat good, mediocre by again ye's standards but ill rather see Kanye happy than ever than being forced in a mindset is just this album was kinda underwhelming to hear. But Kanye is eventually going to have to confront the serious limitations that his faith is putting on the range of his arts expression. A very complicated and strange thesis, but true. Jesus is King is a significant milestone in West's career and anticipates what we can expect in the future.
